• Excellent views can incorporate seating and interpretation. There is already a good existing mix of habitats, but this could be enhanced further with notable potential for further tree
planting (ensuring that key views will not be impacted and ensuring existing good-quality habitat will not be impacted).
• Incorporating all or part of Ringslade minerals site (depending on restoration timeframe, final restoration details/uses, and public access potential) and enhancing scale of the site and the links with large existing residential areas of Highweek, Hele Park and Mile End.
• Potential for circular walk around lake
with bird-hides and seating, and additional viewpoint/s in restored minerals site.
• This phase is located adjacent to the Highweek Scout building and could offer outside learning space on the doorstep.

Delivery

• The Council will engage with the minerals department and minerals operator, to promote this Masterplan and to promote opportunities for public access alongside restoration (where appropriate). The restoration period is likely to be over the next 10 years.
• The Council will seek to progress discussions with other landowners (subject to future Council approvals, capacity and budget).

• Fabulous views from the northern sections where the land slopes quite steeply to the level of the trig point.
This offers rugged access, with an appealing mix of habitats and feeling of freedom. Interpretation and seating can form part of the ‘destination’ viewpoints.
• Significant benefits for new residents on the doorstep at Bradmore and Houghton Barton, and other visitors
to the site via active/sustainable travel or using the proposed car park.
• There are significant opportunities for tree planting, as well as potential for hedgerow restoration, a community orchard, and uplifting existing grasslands to meadows habitat. This may support biodiversity net gain.
• The lower parts of this phase could provide spring barley crop habitat for cirl buntings (an important local bird species).

Delivery

• Future developers of the Bradmore housing allocation to lead on delivery of this phase at an early stage of development, or to provide the land to the Council at an early phase of delivery (provided that the Council agrees to taking the land).
• Public footpaths via the Seale Hayne Green Spaces area should be secured as part of the Bradmore Hilltop Park delivery and should complement any
potential future Seale Hayne redevelopment.

The countryside park would offer large areas of public open space with stunning views across the county, natural play and space for biodiversity, providing notable benefits for local communities and wildlife. It has the potential to offer walking routes of short to longer distances up to around 6.5km, and further by connecting into existing routes nearby.
To ensure delivery the plan was broken down into phases, which were informed by researching land ownership and connections through the landscape.

Our task was understand the environment and the context of the land on Bradmore Hill Top. The primary objective was to establish a clear hierarchy of access routes, ensuring that various types of signs would be strategically positioned for different purposes at key locations throughout the park.

Our landscape design strategy was a significant part of the planning application. The new access road outside the forest is screened by sensitive earth shaping. An on-site nursery was set up to transplant some forest trees ahead of construction. Over 3km. of artificial watercourses and a 5 hectare lake were designed as features for the 750 lodges.

Centre Parcs' holiday village is located on a sens

Centre Parcs' holiday village is located on a sensitive hill-top location within a 450 acre coniferous forest in the River Eden valley, Cumbria. It is visible from surrounding areas including the Pennines and M6 motorway. The village development extends over 350 acres and our design approach resulted in minimal tree loss and visual impact. A visual impact assessment identified areas of visibility and from this the buildings' locations confirmed.

The objective of our client was to enhance the zoo's income, so we partnered with John Csaky Associates and Silver Knight Enterprises to create a proposal showcasing the finest collection of life-sized model dinosaurs in the UK. Our design placed these models within a beautifully landscaped garden next to the main zoo. Despite a tight schedule for design and construction, we collaborated with suppliers, contractors, and designers to quickly establish a dynamic garden setting.

Our client's brief aimed to increase the zoo's income and so we devised a project proposal with John Csaky Associates and Silver Knight Enterprises to accommodate the best collection in the United Kingdom of full scale model dinosaurs. Our initial
concept places these models in a new attractive landscape garden adjacent to the main zoo. We arranged the layout in a chronological order reflecting the evolutionary sequence of these prehistoric animals and to delight, surprise and educate visitors of all ages.
Faced with a short design and construction programme, we worked with suppliers, contractors and designers to achieve an instant garden
environment.

epd Landscape (formerly trading as Roger Griffiths

epd Landscape (formerly trading as Roger Griffiths Associates) was commissioned by Rugby Radio Station Limited Partnership (RRSLP) to produce the Green Infrastructure (GI) Strategy report as a key supplementary document for the outline planning application for the SUE. Conforming to government guidance and Rugby Borough Council’s Core Strategy, the GI Strategy aims to provide a high quality environment for new and existing communities and help promote the Rugby Radio Station SUE as a great place to live, work and invest.
The report reviewed current government GI guidance and examples of best practice before a comprehensive baseline study was undertaken and the wide range of information was gathered and mapped in a set of GI Assets Plans. This built up a solid foundation for establishing the key GI principles and objectives for the site. Integration of GI was also investigated at the local level to ensure the implementation of a high quality, well connected and multifunctional GI network.

The GI Strategy also outlines a number of innovative ways of delivering GI principles throughout the site via various short, medium and long term land management plans that draw together the management of the landscape and habitats as well as the retained cultural heritage assets.

Extensive public consultation events were held at different stages including a five day Public Design Inquiry in June 2009 and a CABE Design Review in January 2010. An outline of the key issues/concerns regarding the GI raised through the consultation process was included in the report and this was then followed by clear design responses.

Outline planning permission for Rugby Radio Station SUE was granted in May 2014. In the formal consultation response letter, the GI Strategy report was praised by Natural England as ‘Exemplar’ for its excellent detailed recommendations, based on a comprehensive collation of principles, themes and best practice.

epd was appointed by Corby Borough Council to undertake a landscape design feasibility commission which explored the connection of the transitional edge between the town and the existing woodland.

The client’s vision for the Parkland Gateway was for a mixed quarter of cultural, civic, educational, residential, retail and leisure uses. The objectives were: a softer transitional edge between the town and the woodland; amenity and recreational space for the residents and a more inviting entrance to the woodland.

Our design aimed to enhance the existing woodland edge by creating a diverse range of habitats and retaining a series of existing specimen trees with proposed ground flora. An innovative entrance surface was proposed by extending the paving pattern of Corby Walk and gradually changing to gravel footpath as it enters the woodland. This was complemented by using naturalistic planting in timber planters which offered coherence alongside the timber benches.
