Project Overview

epd were commissioned by DHL RE (UK) Ltd via Lysander Associates to conduct a Landscape and Visual Appraisal (LVA) and landscape design for a proposed warehouse distribution building at Snelshall East, Pendeen Crescent, Milton Keynes.

Landscape and Visual Appraisal (LVA):

epd carried out a full landscape and visual baseline appraisal before assessing the impacts of the development on the site. This in turn informed the mitigation, landscape design and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Approach: epd worked closely with the client and all consultants as part of a large multidisciplinary team. This collaboration ensured that all aspects of the project were seamlessly integrated.

Project Phases

Inception through to handover and closeout (RIBA Stage 6): epd are involved in all stages of the scheme, from initial concept through to construction, handover and closeout. This includes:

1 detailed landscape designs, a 10 year landscape management plan, bespoke engineered tree pits for the car parks, and softworks and soiling specifications.

2 Information to support the S278 works

3 site supervision and signoff of the landscape works at Practical Completion (PC)

4 aftercare inspections throughout a 24 month defect period

5 sign off at the end of the defect period.

6 production of all As Built information to be handed over to the client and to form part of the health and safety file at the end of the contract.

7 landscape inspections for the lifespan of the 10 year management plan.
