nautilus, snelshall east

epd were commissioned by DHL Real Estate UK Ltd in 2018 to provide detailed landscape proposals for a proposed Class B8 warehouse distribution building within Snelshall East, Milton Keynes. The site was designated for employment use within the Local Plan, but it is also close to residential housing areas and the linear park running through Tattenhoe. As a consequence epd also provided a Landscape and Visual Appraisal (LVA) to support the planning application. The LVA was conducted by a senior member of the epd team who is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), in accordance with the Landscape Institute and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment’s Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, 3rd Edition (GLVIA3).

The comprehensive landscape proposals included consideration of the local conditions - specifically the existing trees and vegetation in the nearby linear park and surrounding landscape. Our scheme aimed to integrate with these existing habitats to create a seamless Green Infrastructure for the benefit of the area.

The application gained full planning permission in May 2019.
