Natural Play
Natural play refers to play experiences that take place in outdoor environments using natural elements such as trees, rocks, water, and vegetation. It emphasises unstructured, imaginative, and open-ended play opportunities that encourage children to explore, discover, and interact with the natural world. Play environments often incorporate features like logs, boulders, sand, mud, and plants to provide diverse sensory experiences and promote physical activity, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Unlike traditional playgrounds with manufactured equipment, natural play spaces are designed to mimic natural landscapes and offer children opportunities for hands-on exploration, risk-taking, and learning through play in a safe and stimulating outdoor setting.
